Growth - Mental Health

This is a far-reaching topic for our creatives to delve into this week. A growth mindset fosters resilience, optimism, and adaptability, which helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. In contrast, a fixed mindset can lead to self-criticism, fear of failure, and increased vulnerability to mental health issues. Cultivating a growth mindset supports better emotional well-being.

By holding space for a growth mindset, data suggests that individuals' mental and physiological health overall improves. In contrast, those with a fixed mindset are observed as being static, fearing failure, etc.

Art inspiration;

🎨 You may want to consider your art journey. Think about your strengths and areas you have improved. Draw, sculpt, colour, or paint one of them. You may want to ask a close friend what these could be.

🎨 Revisit one of your previous artworks. Could you alter it and improve it? Mistakes are part of improvement, and that’s ok (:

🎨 Experiment with new techniques or new materials, push yourself. Ever improving is a great way to support your growth.

🎨Look to nature, the growth in plants, for example, maybe you’d like to capture this?

🎨Design a graphic representing a growth mindset, think of the colours, any symmetry?

I have purposely left the prompts open this week, as it's intended to be about the individual and their journey; I don't hold the script for that. This will be a week of reflection for you to check in and see your journey.

I look forward to sharing time and seeing your ideas come together. It will be a great evening of creativity, and as always, we will support each other!
