With life being chaotic, it's essential to find time for just you and ring fence that with strong boundaries! This could be a real place, like a favourite room, a park bench, the sea, or gazing up at the night sky. Perhaps, an imagined space, like floating on a cloud or being in a magical forest. We all find calmness in different ways - it’s not prescriptive, it’s simply where your thoughts go.

Many people find peace doing activities such as listening to music, reading, gentle exercise, meditation, creating art, or being with people or animals close to them, or in nature. Several apps have been developed to support people facing anxiety and depression, helping them reconnect with themselves.

It's important to remember that one-size doesn’t fit all; it’s unique to you! My calm space is the topic being explored in our art group this week.

Art inspiration;

🎨Sketch out your calm space and paint or colour this in.

🎨Create an abstract piece with brush strokes as you feel them in your calm space, a great way to produce an artwork that has meaning to you in a colour palette of your choice 🫶🏻

🎨 Think about places that you feel calm, and cut out photos or pictures and make a collage of these to remind you ✨

🎨 Create or print out a Zentangle drawing. Or a mandala. This can be a great way to relax the mind

🎨 You may wish to use electronic media to help you generate your calm space, think about what to include and the colours to use, these will be unique to you
