A lot of inspiration came from our Sea Life session this week. A few of our members had visited Sea Life Centres, while others reminisced about their holidays to seaside destinations, and some shared their dreams too. That's what I really enjoy about our art sessions, imaginations wander and thoughts, and we have some fabulous conversations that we may not have had, especially if life is quiet and you see few people in your day. It's a great shared experience.
Take a look at the gallery of work I've put together, it's fabulous...

Phil - Visited his local aquarium and used some fab sea life colour photography with captions, in a ToonMe app to generate this comic strip style story.
Donna (1) - After visiting Blackpool Sea Life Centre, Donna was inspired to draw and then colour in this aquarium of her own. Really fab showing a vast number of species, my favourite has to be the seahorse, which is yours? Colouring pencils and felt-tip pens were used.

Noor - used some bright summer colours for her seaside sea life scene where she enjoys fun times. Later, she went on to explain that she is flying over the beach. Love the imagination. Soft pastels and pencils.
Sarah - 'Natural sea night lights' - I'm mesmerised by natural night glows, always have been since seeing fireflies glowing in hedgerows, and bioluminescence intrigues me. This piece is based on the tiny light-emitting species found in the Indian Ocean off the Maldives coastline at certain times of the year. Pencil outline, Acrylic painting.

Barbara - I said, 'her dark-haired mermaid looks like she's chatting with other sea life'... She has used a special shade of blue for her eyes, and she wears a gold bikini top to match her tail fin and headband. Her long hair is in 'Mucha style' (developed by Alphonse Mucha, a Czech Art Nouveau painter. Drawn in graphite, painted in watercolours.
Andy - This mighty ocean goer has jumped up out of the sea and has been brought to life by a very colourful backdrop, a very pretty sunset wash. Soft Pastels/Watercolours were used, I believe.

Donna (2) - This fish was coloured by Donna on the app she uses on her phone. A cute fish that fits well with the theme of Sea Life and maybe looks a little like one of her fish she keeps, but they're not multicoloured!
Matt - Designed, painted, stencilled and water-sealed this pair of children's Crocs with Sea Life artwork. Matt said they are turquoise with sparkles. Stencilled with coral, clown fish 'Nemo' and a shark fin.
A lot of very different ideas were sparked by the sea life theme. It's always so good to catch up with all the creatives on a Wednesday. I hope you enjoy taking your time browsing the gallery. A lot of time went into these, grab yourself a cuppa or a cool drink and imagine yourself waterside if you wish to.
Feel free to join us, there's a different topic every week, and you'll always be welcome. I'll include the Link tree so you can pop in if you wish, just click on All4Art, it's a Wednesday evening, starts 7:30-9pm UK time

Awesome artworks everyone!! Very impressive, Im wondering if Matt is planning to wear his shoes to the beach?
