An incredibly mindful week of art and a reminder for myself and others that we all need to take time to stop, breathe, and take part in something we enjoy without the pressures of the everyday, with the niggles of life gnawing away at us. This space enables that glimpse of a ray of sunshine and the positivity that can turn our mundane into something more uplifting and bring hope.

Barbara - used gold lettering and chose an affirmation of meaning and relevance to her. She personalised the affirmation with art nouveau corner motifs, and the 'Om' symbol gives this even greater power. Watercolour paint and fine liner pen.
Andy - used watercolour and a gold liner pen to create this positive, beautiful artwork. He said, "I always find the tulips quite positive as they are among the first flowers to come up, signalling the end of the cold, dark days of winter"

Noor - used colouring pencils to create her colourful garden, where she visits and feels positive and loves to spend time among the flowers and butterflies. It looks very peaceful, and you can imagine the scent from the flowers would be absolutely gorgeous.
Donna - used felt tip pens, incredibly vibrant work, full of colour and positivity, the dancing flower especially brought a smile to my face!

Phil - compilation of photos made on the Toon me app presented in a poster style showing Phil's support workers in character or as themselves who provide him with encouragement and positivity. Fantastic to have such a network.
Carolina - was feeling tired when she joined the art session after a busy day, but then she began to ease into creating as the minutes passed and as we all chatted and worked on our art projects. This is her beautiful artwork, which she later posted with the lettering "Viva El arte" meaning long live art!
Some powerful drawings and meanings personal to each of our members this week. This highlights the importance of taking a moment for yourself and realising you're important and you need to rebuild your inner strength and by using affirmations relevant to you, writing them down or speaking them out loud, gives them power.
Perhaps you've been inspired to think about affirmations that are relevant to you by looking through the gallery this week?
You're welcome to come along to the art group as always. There's a different topic each week to explore. Every Wednesday, 7:30-9:00pm, UK time, follow the link below, click on All4Art
