After the long bank holiday weekend, many may have returned to work. Those with children, whose summer holidays will be drawing to a close or will be soon, this topic has been a great way to look back at the summertime and reminisce. Bringing warmth and good times back to the front of everyone's minds... happy days.

Donna - Amazing country house, lush green fields, and a tree, a beautiful, big, hazy sun shining in the sky. A lot of work went into this hazy sunny day, drawn and coloured in with felt-tip pens. Val, Donna's mum, helped. She added to the haziness of the sun and the sky. Certainly a place to go and escape to.
Noor - The first of Noor's pictures, a fabulous sunflower drawing, with its incredibly happy face. This smiley flower is a great reminder of warm summer days. Colouring pencils were used for this artwork.

Noor - The second and final of Noor's pictures, a colourful butterfly. Noor very much enjoys drawing butterflies. The colours are very pretty; there have been a lot of butterflies floating around this summer, collecting nectar. Colouring pencils were used for this art.
Phil - used digital tech to make his montage artwork, with the Toon me app. A lot of summer scenes were generated, and he used an altered photo to put into the background, showing skin glow and the solar glares. I like the sunset beach photos the best.

Sarah - 'Free spirit, hazy days of Summer' Long summer days always remind me of times when I hear the twittering of these tiny black and white House martins. Skilled acrobats of the skies, flying so high, swooping and swirling, catching insects over dazzling, hazy, coloured flower meadows. Painted in watercolours.
Barbara - 'Summer fairy' A beautiful, magical painting dipping between the realms of fantasy and the hedgerows of summertime. Sometimes, glancing between rays of sunlight, little movements catch our eyes... Could this be the fairy folk, perhaps? Painted in watercolour, fine liner was used for highlighting.
There's something that brings a smile to your face when you look at each of these artworks. All great reminders of the warm, long days of summer, as we head ever closer to the end of British Summer Time for this year and the lengthening evenings, cooler days, drizzle and nature entering it's sleep cycle once more.
