A beautiful array of creativity was produced during this session, full of colour, summer vibes and fun. Different pieces were inspired by artists, nature, memories, and summer favourites.

Cream and white background. 3 different artworks all show summer fruits and vegetables
Finished artwork from Noor, Andy, and Donna for this summer theme

Noor - used pencils and pens to create her artwork. She explained her favourite fruit was an apple.

Andy - used soft pastels and watercolour paints for this selection of juicy ripe summer fruits.

Donna - used felt tip pens to colour this basket brimming of summer fruit and vegetables, so vibrant and delicious looking with great detail in each of the individual ones.

Cream and white background. Top right shows ripe purple sloe berries in hedgerow and the spikey thorns ; Bottom are graphite drawn on cream background of human figures with summer fruit incorporated into them
Finished artwork from Barbara and Carolina for this summer theme

Barbara - 'Sloe berries growing on Chorlton Meadows, Manchester.' These berries have turned a beautiful ripe purple colour and are ready for picking or to be eaten by the birds. We had a discussion about how bitter they are and their use in gin making. Watercolour paints were used to recreate this.

Carolina - used fine line work to create her drawings, inspired by the artworks of Giuseppe Arcimboldo. A very delicate piece of work combining human form and summer fruits, almost as clothing. A lot of detail in the hair, head pieces and earrings, especially.

Cream and white background. Top right an abandoned stone cottage centrally, in the foreground thorny brambles are growing with large deep purple blackberries, to the left are some green hazelnuts ; Bottom left is a snapchat phot compilation of a man wearing different summer fruit in a variety of ways
Finished artwork from Sarah and Phil for this summer theme

Sarah - 'Summertime foraging' - juicy, ripe blackberries waiting to be eaten, an abandoned cottage is hidden behind the brambles. This painting came from the memories I have of days gone by, picking from the hedgerows in summertime and peeking through to discover lost buildings nestled behind the impenetrable, vicious thorns and the green tufted hazelnuts ripening alongside. Watercolour painting.

Phil - this fruit compilation was generated on the free filter on Snapchat. This one had all of us smiling, a great use of apps and tech to make a fun, imaginative image, and a great way to be creative.
