No two mental health journeys look the same. Some paths feel heavy and difficult, while others reflect hope, resilience, and recovery. But even the smallest step forward matters.

Taking just a 1% step each day can slowly create positive change over time. Recovery is rarely instant — it grows through small actions like building routines, expressing emotions, and connecting with others.
Around 22.6% of adults aged 16–64 experience common mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression. This reminds us how important support, understanding, and healthy coping strategies truly are.
Art can become one of those coping strategies. Creative expression allows people to communicate feelings that are often difficult to put into words. Through art, we learn that progress is not about perfection — it’s about continuing to move forward, one small step at a time.

Art Inspiration for this week;
🎨 Draw or paint a beautiful walk, somewhere you like or would like to go walking, to clear your mind and feel uplifted.
🎨 Paint over the past; choose an old drawing/make a dark, messy background, then either paint bright colours or a hopeful scene right over it.
🎨 The 1% Micro-Step: Choose a tiny, simple line, shape or colour, repeat it across your entire paper, changing it a little at a time, showing how small actions make a huge impact.
🎨 Choose your path; Draw or paint a literal path/maze that splits into different directions. Represent obstacles to avoid, use darker colours & highlight a healthier path forward with vibrant colours.
🎨 A safe space or landscape; Paint a peaceful place where you feel safe, think about where this may be an easy space to walk through.
🎨 Just keep moving; Place your pen on the paper, keep it moving, don't lift it up. Make swirls & loops, enjoy the movement. Colour sections in. You may see the outline of a recognisable shape or object appear; follow your instincts.
🎨 The progress ladder: Sketch a simple ladder or winding 3D staircase, colour in each step with a different bright, unique pattern to show that every single step forward is a small win.
