An interesting evening of conversation and art centred on the subjects of pantomimes, as well as the nostalgia surrounding them, including the characters, costumes, and hilarity of their performances. Not all our artworks focused on panto, however, some delved more into fashion and other inspirations, as you will discover, take a look at the gallery and read the info behind the scenes...

Phil - Had a lot of fun generating these images using an AI app, he explained this week, he used Gemini AI. The Panto dame has incredibly huge hair and a dress to match, larger than life!! Additionally, the modelling poses and striding down the catwalk look like he's having a blast; he generated a short video of this, which was fun to watch too. A fantastic use of tech! Loving this!

Noor - This is such a fun piece of artwork, depicting Jack and the Beanstalk, the last Pantomime Noor went to see at the theatre, which she really enjoyed. I love how colourful it is, with all the different components, including Jack, the Beanstalk, the house at the top of this, the beans, and the sheep!!! Noor used Colouring pencils and Sharpies for this artwork.

Sarah - 'Winter feeding - keeping warm while topping up salt lick buckets for the Highland cows in calf in Scotland. During this week's art, my thoughts were directed to warmth and staying cosy during the winter months, when winds shred through you and icy rain and sometimes snow bite at the exposed parts of your skin.'
My inspiration came from my love of the wilds of Scotland, coupled with one of my favourite animals, the Highland cow. So came about my idea for this painting of a young farmer, wrapped up warm, in full wet-weather clothing, carrying a yellow bucket filled with a salt lick to supplement the Highland cows with the essential nutrients they need. Set in the Scottish mountains. Graphite sketch, watercolour paints were used.

Andy - Previously, Storm Bram had caused chaos, high winds and heavy rain, which had led to the inspiration behind Andy's artwork. What more would you need but a beautiful jumper to pull on and forget about the howling storm outside, perfect for a winter wardrobe to brighten up a chilly day!! This is awesome, love how this jumper has a very winter-based design, but a cosy feel to it, beautiful colours to the main body also.
Stencils were used for the snowflakes, snowman and tree with felt pens to get the nice bright colours. The jumper has a subtle watercolour wash.

Barbara - This is a great winter wardrobe pose with fantastic warm-looking clothing and chunky footwear, not only painted but also modelled by Barbara. This is her faux fur jacket, matched with her barrel leg jeans and chunky toe boots. She talked us through how she struck a pose, photographed it and then drew and painted it, very winter-ready. Wonder if there's going to be a few more seasons to a new fashion catalogue coming soon, watch this space, people don't follow fashion, they set the trend... Watercolour painting, B says the background may change.
A lot of considered thought, colour and inspiration came from this session. Some pieces had a lot of deeper meaning to them, which is why this group is so important to many, as it allows people time to just be, and allows them to connect to their inner self when all is still and quiet. In the group, you can draw, colour, and create. Emotions and dreams are allowed to attach to these colours and associations, without interruptions or pressures from the outside world, just for a little while. Being among like-minded individuals to share the experience in a calm, relaxed space has far-reaching benefits.
Enjoy the gallery. Please feel free to join us for our next art group if you're free, no pressure and use the materials you have to hand, this could be a biro and a piece of paper, any all abilities. Follow the link below, join by clicking All4Art on Linktree.

Pantomime isn’t my thing but these pictures certainly are. Well done all, fantastic work.
