A fantastic evening, spending time reminiscing over the past year and thinking about the time spent with folk and favourite places visited as fireworks were being set off on New Year's Eve. Some thoughtful artworks were created, others reworked, as you'll see. Take some time for yourself and enjoy browsing the gallery from last week.

Helen - Created a stunningly beautiful Mandala/Zentangle design with a Tree of Life featuring at its centre. The intricacies are fantastic, looking as if leaf buds are uncurling around the central heart, the tree of life itself. Very delicate and powerfully meaningful. The symmetry and patterning take a steady hand, which is great for calming. Black fine marker pens have been used. I mentioned that this design would look great as a tattoo. There are many crossovers between artworlds.

Noor - Lovely artwork created around a New Year celebration with colourful fireworks being set off in the skies to welcome in 2026. Colouring pencils were used.

Andy - A fabulous drawing! This is a view from the hotel window where Andy was staying when he visited Liverpool. It has great depth, and I love the colours. This city is one to be remembered, looking back... I wonder where you will visit in 2026, and whether you will sketch it on your travels next time?
Artwork created using oil pastels.

Phil - An awesomely colourful picture, with great little details. Phil based his artwork on a New Year's party, and the time spent with his fab team of support workers during 2025, and how that amazing support will be carried on into 2026. I love how his cat, Haley, is getting involved too! Created using Staedtler coloured ink pen markers.

Sarah - I previously began this painting on canvas earlier in the year, lost flow with it a couple of times, so I decided to take up the challenge of finishing the challenge of completing the creative cycle and complete this artwork. The timing was right somehow, and the painting came together. Acrylic on canvas.
Rest, recovery, and a state of renewal are necessary to overcome the burden of the previous year, the hard toil of forming, nurturing, and being; withstanding the consuming elemental forces around, a dark time, but peaceful. Then, remembering the connection with warmth, its softness and beauty, the feeling of rejuvenation, and the sweet smell. Buds and blooms, greens of all shades, the daylight stretching longer. Life begins, once more, with a total transformation. Together, they dance to the rhythm of nature, to the heartbeat of a powerful drum, Mother Earth.
A lot of very different artworks, styles and many memories created during 2025, I can guarantee there'll be so many more to come for 2026, watch this space... Let me know if you enjoy this gallery; it would be great to hear from you.
