I'm writing this post with the sun streaming in my window! That was a blissfully positive life-lifting moment today (:


Positivity means maintaining an optimistic outlook, even during challenges. It involves looking for the good in situations, feeling grateful, and focusing on solutions rather than problems. Positive people still experience negative emotions, but they don’t allow those feelings to control their mindset.


Practising gratitude, savouring small daily pleasures, and finding something to look forward to can improve mood and reduce stress. Mindfulness helps increase awareness of thoughts, making it easier to replace negative thinking with positive self-talk. Even smiling can boost your mood by releasing feel-good chemicals in the brain.

Spending time with uplifting people, doing activities you enjoy, and focusing on what you have rather than what you lack can strengthen positivity. However, ignoring genuine negative emotions can lead to “toxic positivity,” where difficult feelings are denied instead of processed.


A balanced, optimistic outlook supports better mental and physical health, stronger relationships, improved stress management, and greater overall well-being.

Art Inspiration for this week;

🎨 Colour explosion ‘Good Vibes Only’ artwork. Create a piece of art using splatter techniques, sponges, anything you have to hand, experiment and enjoy!

🎨 Sunshine typography style… Choose a positive word (Joy, Happy, Smile, Shine). Turn the word into an artistic design with patterns, shading, and 3D. Try with graffiti, bubble and colour.

🎨 ‘Mini Things’ Mini Art Series. Create 4-6 small square artworks (your everyday happy, your favourite drink, book, music, pet, flower, place, etc.). Display together as a grid.

🎨 Comic Strip. Create an illustration comic of a positive or funny day with expressive characters. Or maybe a comic superhero/mascot.

🎨 Make your own gratitude tree. Draw or print a tree template. Take a moment and reflect on what you’re thankful for and write your ideas on the leaves of your tree. These can be coloured.
