Movember is an annual campaign encouraging men to grow moustaches each November to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. Founded in 2003 by two friends in Melbourne, the movement quickly expanded, leading to the creation of the Movember Foundation in 2004. Now active in over 20 countries, participants - “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sisters” - use events, sponsorships, and social media to support research and community programs. Movember 2025 runs from November 1 - 30, beginning with “Shave the Date” events.

The campaign addresses a serious men’s health crisis: men die earlier than women, suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 15-49, and cancers like prostate and testicular cancer often go undetected. Movember funds initiatives promoting early detection, open conversation, and mental health support.

Art inspiration;

🎨Breaking the silence, use art to demonstrate men’s health and illustrate the importance of overlooked issues experienced by men.

🎨Think about challenging the definitions and differences between masculinity and vulnerability, the emotional depth that lies beneath the surface of men, and create an artwork based on this.

🎨Design a poster that acts as a conversation starter about men’s mental health, especially the unseen struggles.

🎨Showcase the inner strengths of men, produce an artwork that shows empathy, breaks down barriers, and allows individuals to connect.

🎨Do you know someone who has grown or has an awesome moustache, maybe currently or previously, they could be yourself or a celebrity. Perhaps, they could be your model as an art subject?

🎨Men's mental health is underrepresented. This is an emotive subject. Channel this and create a flyer for a new group for guys to get together to discuss breaking the stigma… Think of a name, the colour scheme…

It will be a great evening of creativity! See you all soon, Wednesday evening, 7:30 pm UK time. Please join us on link-tree select All4Art https://linktr.ee/all4inclusion
