This week is a fantastic opportunity to use raw materials if you so wish, as we are looking at leaf art, or patchwork, or a blend of both; they complement each other. Leaves, if you look at them closely, with their veins, have intricate details, and if you print or use them in leaf rubbing, you can also layer them into very detailed designs.

Patchwork designs can also be intricate and involve a great amount of detail, and have many embellishments added to depict a story, for example.

Art inspiration;

🎨 Gather some leaves and try printing with them. Look for ones that are more rigid and have prominent veins for the best impression. Use acrylic, gouache, or tempera paints!

🎨 Make a crayon-resist watercolour painting. Use a white wax crayon to rub over the leaves placed underneath the white paper. Use different coloured paints to create your art

🎨Given the variety of leaves, draw and use their colours throughout the season, symbolising an aspect of your life or create your self-portrait using leaf art

🎨 Design your own patchwork cover or clothing using colours and styles that are meaningful to you

🎨 Land and patchwork, draw and paint a scene in a rural area that inspires you, locally or far away, farmland or tulip fields, for example.

It will be a great evening of creativity, and as always, we will support

See you all soon 🙂 Wednesday evening, 7:30 pm UK time.
