Getting festive means different things to everyone, from cherished traditions to simple togetherness. At its heart, the season focuses on kindness, gratitude and spreading hope, especially to those less fortunate.
Christmas markets, carolling and shared celebrations foster unity, while lights, decorations and music lift spirits. For many, it is a time to reflect on values of love and hope, symbolised by the evergreen tree as light in dark times.

Winter itself brings short days, cold winds and quiet landscapes that encourage reflection. These scenes have long inspired artists, including Claude Monet. His painting The Magpie (1868-1869) captures winter’s stillness through soft blues and subtle light and shadow, showing how the season continues to inspire creativity and emotional expression.

Art inspiration;
🎨 Grab some scissors and craft some snowflakes from white paper, or angels. Make some garlands with other coloured paper, or Christmas tree spirals?
🎨 What inspires you around this time of year? Create an artwork around this.
🎨 Your perfect festive scene… this could be Father Christmas visiting, family, a Christmas tree with beautiful lights, or something else.
🎨 In the depths of winter, what do you see from your window? Paint the scene.
🎨 Wintry landscape, time stands still, it’s quiet. Maybe you observe animals foraging to survive, or see icicles on a branch? Sketch the detail and add colour.
🎨 Draw the people in your wintry landscape, and add their emotional expression to your artwork?
I look forward to sharing time and seeing your ideas come together. It will be a great evening of creativity! See you all soon 🙂 Wednesday evening, 7:30 pm UK time. Please join us on link-tree select All4Art https://linktr.ee/all4inclusion
