An extremely innovative session that brought out the designers in our creatives, some chose to design limited-edition summer packaging, giving it their twist on the season's energy. Others set their minds to product invention, both edibles and wearables! Exceptional summer graphics, packaging, flavours and the colour vibes were en pointe, specially created for the limited run. Browse them here; they are irresistible. Let's get into summer!

Barbara - 'Tequila Sunrise' - packaging for ice lollies. Awesomely designed summer packaging! Not only that, but Barbara and her friend researched the recipe for Tequila Sunrise Ice Lollies and found some homemade versions in the USA. If they were made commercially, this could be a great packaging design. The concept, colours and lettering all give the summer vibes, aimed at an adult market. Watercolours were used.

Phil - Extremely colourful vibes, great designs for both artworks! Phil decided on a design brief for a new bag for customers and, secondly, a t-shirt as part of his uniform for the shop he works at. Fantastically bright, fresh and practical for the summer, displaying the logo, great summer designs and branding. Phil used the sketch app on his iPad to create these.

Vicky - A different interpretation of summer, Vicky sketched these great iconic pictures and gave us a fantastic explanation of each. Clockwise from left to right, with the sun, we always feel the raindrops, as we are in the UK! Every summer isn't complete unless you eat a fabulous ice cream in a cone with a flake! Vicky drew a swallow to go with the saying 'one swallow doesn't make a summer'. Then she drew a goose with its gosling that hatched in the warmer months, some musical notes to the tune 'we're all going on a summer holiday', and an aeroplane taking off. Finally, Vicky captured a typical beach scene with the iconic bucket and spade & sketched beside a sandcastle! A black biro was used.

Donna - Really getting the summery vibes with your artwork, Donna, fabulous designs. Your first picture is very cute. The summer bag is a gorgeous colour, I love the large purple flower and the sunglasses. The cola cans in their matching outfits, male and female, are a great touch! The surf dude in his board shorts with sunglasses and the girl with her purple bow and rainbow skirt are really imaginative, Donna. Similarly, your juice bottles designed with their grass skirts look very summery, awesome packaging designs! The ice-creams in your second picture look delicious. I was thinking I haven't had an ice-cream in a cone for a long time, and yours looks very tempting! Good for marketing, let's go... Felt-tip pens were used.

Noor - Fabulously colourful, loving the details of the artwork that Noor created for her strawberry ice-cream packaging. She explained that her design shows a glorious seaside with a yellow butterfly, flowers, strawberries, a beach towel, a chair and a towel. Blissfully summery and light! She is really making great use of her acrylic paint palette in this picture.

Matthew - 'Iced Fruit Lolly'. For this design, Matthew based his drawing on his favourite fruit pastille iced lolly, which he chooses when temperatures soar and eats to cool him down during the summer. Great work, Matthew. A black biro was used.
Awesomely imaginative, and as a group, we're incredibly invested in summer, hoping the weather settles, and we can enjoy the warmer months ahead, looking out for the bright colours and tasting fresh flavours, as depicted by the designs of the group's summer packaging. A fantastic challenge, wonder if any of these will be seen in a shop near you? Who knows, watch this space...
