Where did you find yourself wandering when you went on your journey to your paradise? Was it warmer climbs, an impenetrable, inhospitable jungle, a treasure island or something a little different, a cooler, more ambient temperature, similar to the UK or perhaps a frozen Island with different species, lost in time? The where is only a part of the story that unfolds, the details of what you discovered, rescued or how you felt as part of perhaps your own personal quest, maybe more so the true nature of the story that needs to be delved deeper into. Take your time browsing our gallery as we go on a different quest with each of our members...

Alison - Beautifully traced and accurately coloured two island species. The first is a Koala, which is native to Australia and currently classified as vulnerable. The second is a Polecat, a species native to the UK Isles that has been protected since its decline. Alison mentioned that the Koala was her absolute favourite animal to work on for this topic. The Koala is my favourite too, although I do love the Polecat, a tough choice!
During our session, Alison also coloured in a rabbit and a Bobcat. Working from information cards to ensure complete accuracy, she used coloured pencils and graphite to capture the true, lifelike colors of each animal.

Donna - Paradise Island #1 looks incredible, with the lush green colours and the inviting seas for a sea to dip in if you get too hot, fabulous Donna! She explained that she had drawn her and her mum on the island, enjoying visiting the gorgeous sandy beaches, as well as being able to go take a trip and watch the sea life from the boat, and then afterwards treat yourselves to a BBQ and look at the sunset at the picnic table. So many fabulous details. Donna said this is called Unicorn Island, keep dreaming... Felt-tip pens and imagination created this island.
Paradise Island #2 - Donna asked if anyone could guess this beach...
I remembered the photos of Blackpool Tower, so this was a great landmark for me to know which beach she'd drawn! Awesome Donna, love your picture of this beach, gorgeous sunny day and the sand looks so golden for you dig with your bucket and spade. Felt-tip pens were used.

Barbara - Female pirate conquering the seas aboard her ship, on a quest for treasure among paradise islands, taking no prisoners by the looks of it! A stunningly fierce painting! I wouldn't wish to cross paths with this lady, respectfully of course, with her yielding pistols, she's got a lot of fire in her, red hair perhaps, great strong feminine portrayal, she's certainly on a quest to retrieve treasure. Fantastic details on her leather jacket capturing movement and light, love it. It's not her first rodeo with the gaping hole in the sail behind her either! Watercolour paints were used.

Noor - Beautiful colours. For her first artwork, Noor imagined an Island off Llandudno, blue skies, a tree for some shade, a bird with blue and green feathers and plenty of golden sand. And a lovely purple flower found by the sea, gorgeous. Great imagination, as we know you haven't visited this part of the UK, yet!
Artwork #2 Noor decided to focus on painting a beach scene, golden sand and blues in the sea and sky. Absolutely fabulous colours. Acrylic paints were used for both paintings.

Matthew - This is fantastic, welcome to Matthew's Island with the sea all around. It has an amazing 'S' shape. I'm sure there will be many flowers on his island; he has a beautiful garden that he works on and loves plants. A black biro was used.

Phil - Awesome AI photo collage. Phil took images of himself, his family members and some support staff and used Google Gemini to generate these Paradise Island pictures. We laughed in our online session, looking at the coats of people in the sea on the sunny island, etc, and were touched when Phil explained he had added photos of his nans visiting Paradise Island with him. A spectacular piece of artwork with meaning.

Andy - Lovely picture. Looks like a really relaxing island, Andy said it is based on Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, off the North Coast of Africa, it can be very hot. Pale sands, palm tree and the hills rising in the distance. The tall, green cactus with spikes adds to the overall impression of how dry the weather is on this island. So refreshing looking out to sea, not a cloud in the sky. He has been here on a holiday break. Soft pastels were used to create this.

Helen - Beautiful paradise island cleverly created using AI by Helen. Currently, she's unable to produce artwork as she would usually, so she decided to put Google Gemini to work with prompts she wrote these into the search, and this was her creation! Cottage, cosy corner/reading area, crafting station, two dogs, greenhouse, and plenty of greenery and the added benefit of the beach and sea. This is Helen's idea of paradise, and it looks amazing, an ideal place to recuperate and heal. Love the name Isla Solana, Helen was saying it translates to sunny spot or suntrap, perfect.

Sarah - 'Puffin Island'
This is based on the Isle of Lundy, and in Old Norse, Lundy means "Puffin Island"! Just 3.5 miles long and half a mile wide, this island off the Devon coast is somewhere I've long dreamed of revisiting, now that I drive a powered wheelchair. England's first Marine Conservation Zone, its waters are home to kelp forests, corals and grey seals, while above the waves puffins, Manx shearwaters and peregrine falcons thrive. On land, feral goats, sika deer and Soay sheep roam freely.
The thought of having the space to wander, observe and study nature, with the ever-changing weather adding drama and atmosphere to the landscape, feels like the perfect island escape. My ultimate quest would be to paint the puffins en plein air while visiting the island. Materials used: watercolour paints, with some iridescent watercolours and a little acrylic paint.
A most excellent and varied gallery of artwork displaying paradise islands near and far being protected by pirate-type characters and others protected by government legislation. A huge amount of imagination and a great amount of details, worth making the time for a second visit... Where would you like to go? Leave us a comment and let us know about your own Paradise Island Quest, it could be imaginary or an Island that is on the globe.
