Everyone has their idea of paradise, whether it's a city or haven in the country. What we find visually stimulating or calming varies, and we discover hidden gems unexpectedly!

This week's art topic is broad! There are no limits; why not use your favourite spaces and places as inspiration for your art?

Art Inspiration

  • Be inspired by where you live, sketch plein air (outside). You don't have to travel far or maybe use photos you have taken. Bring them to life...

  • Perhaps you aren't able to access the outside? No problem, use your imagination. Take a journey in your mind and show us your favourite space and place.

  • Experiment with materials, combine a variety of materials in inventive ways, and take risks. There is no "wrong way"; see what happens.

  • Perhaps you would like to try and draw a silhouette cityscape based on your local skyline with fine liners and marker pens?

  • Technically, think about composition, balance, and perspective. Incorporate movement. Light and shadow.

  • Maybe have a look at collecting and using mixed media and using paints, felt tips, add lots of layers as well as photographs to make this interesting.
