A very timely theme for the end of June, unfortunately, I was unable to be at this session due to poor health, so a valued team member ran the week. Thank you to Myra for not only running but also producing some artwork of her own for this topic. An incredible amount of thought went into these pieces, and some beautiful colours too. A gentle art session that truly showed compassion, care and support for yourselves and each other. Please browse the gallery.

Noor - Beautiful colours, showing 'Noor’s helping hand. She supports her friends by listening and talking to them.' Really love the bold overlapping colours, great design Noor. Sharpie and other felt-tip pens were used.

Andy - 'My Zentangle hands'
These are great, I love the stripey wrist and the different patterns on each finger, bold colours, very striking. Felt-tip pens were used.

Phil - Says, he, 'likes to help and support many people where he works. He asks how they are and tells people how lovely they look. The lady’s smiles says it all.'
Having chatted to Phil online, he is a very genuine, supportive person. For this photo collage, he used Google Gemini.

Donna - A lovely colourful artwork with a really positive reminder for everyone. Great colour choices, nice and bright Donna. Felt-tip pens were used.

Myra - Fantastic artwork Myra, very meaningful! I especially like your first drawing with the meaning behind it, supporting a community, very fitting, Thank you for your help, much appreciated. One of our art group nicely summed up your drawing, Barbara writes, 'Lovely Myra - You are the hub of our online family so very apt depiction of you being there for all of us'
Black ink was used.

Barbara - A fantastic study of hands, beautiful detail. Barbara explained that she chose a classic 'Cosmic Mudra' (or Hokkai-join), which represents supporting others by encouraging self-awareness and compassion. Often seen as a meditation gesture. The Cosmic Mudra reminds us all that supporting others begins with finding calm within ourselves. With the gesture/pose, the right hand rests gently on the left, with the thumbs lightly touching to form a circle, symbolising wisdom, balance and the interconnectedness of all beings, from Zen and Buddhist philosophies. By cultivating inner peace and mental clarity, we create a steady foundation to be fully present for others without becoming overwhelmed with burnout, an equilibrium. Looks very empowering. Watercolour painting.
An awesome display of artwork and a display of true team effort. Remember, if you are holding space for others, reserve a space for you too. Try not to be so hard on yourself, and allow yourself the same compassion you extend to others.
Please remember to like and comment on these artworks. Also, we have a different theme each week. If you would like to join us, we run our online session each Wednesday at 7:30 pm. The link is below, select All4Art, feel free to give art a try, you'd be very welcome.
