One area, I know several of you are keen to explore more is different train tours accessible in different countries. In this latest blog we are going to spotlight Denmark.

Denmark is located in Northern Europe and is well connected by air to/from the UK. Many of you will land in the country's capital, Copenhagen which is the begining of two scenic train journeys. Copenhagen is also the gateway to Sweden thanks to the Oresound Bridge which has a train every 15 minutes accross to Malmo. All trains in Denmark feature wheelchair spaces and ramps from the platform and the majority are also fully step free.

Copenhagen is a nice city to spend a few days in. I visited in October 2014 for a few nights when the famous Tivoli Gardens were decorated for Halloween . The gardens are accessible and are decorated for many seasonal attractions . I personally hope to return one year for Christmas. You can virtually visit the gardens on their Youtube channel to see all the themed displays. Other must visit attractions include the Nyhaven harbour, famous for its coloured houses and the Little Mermaid statue.

A short scenic day trip from the city is the Coastal Train which takes 55 minutes along the coastline to Helsingor. More info is on this website

For a longer train trip you might want to head over the Great Belt Bridge. In a few hours you will be in the city of Odensee. This is the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson . The city is very accessible and you can learn more on their website.

Further along the line is Aarhus. This is another large city and is very accessible with more information on thier webiste.

Denmark is home to many other accessible attractions and places to visit. A good website is Access Denmark . Throughout Denmark (and the rest of Scandanavia) there is a hotel chain Scandic which has always had good reccomendations for accessibility
