Recently, through LinkedIn, I connected with Paula who runs a company called World Accessible Holidays.

World Accessible Holidays specialise in finding accessible holidays and have an excellent website packed with lots of useful information on different hotels across the world on the various access features on offer. The definition of an "accessible" room can vary significantly from property to property and many disabled holidaymakers often spend a lot of time contacting and researching each individual property, as disappointingly this information isn't easily available or filterable on the main tour operators websites.
Many holidays can be booked to the same hotels and destinations as our non disabled peers if the right questions are asked. Often when people think about accessibility it traditionally relates to those with mobility but there are many different imparements we all live with and travel about with. For example sensory needs need to be met for example, does the hotel have quiet spaces if the main areas become too busy and overwhelming? Are the plugs near the bedside for any medical equipment you need to run overnight? The World Accessible Holidays website has filters for you to record all this information to find an ideal holiday that meets your access needs
There is a wide range of holidays on offer through them and I would recommend checking their website out for more details. Some destinations offered by them include Cyprus, Jersey, Italy and Spain and we will shortly be spotlighting these more through future travel blogs and our monthly travel group meetings. They are also shortly going to be launching a new tours page so keep an eye on their website to learn more and explore.
