Recently, on our WhatsApp. We were sharing pictures of some of the tram networks found in the UK. This got me thinking about different European City Breaks with tram networks you might want to explore on your next trip. As always if anyone has any other recommendations or wants to spotlight or share anything our monthly last Thursday travel club is avalable.

The Hauge

While most travelers to The Netherlands visit Amsterdam, another beautiful must visit city is The Hauge. This is only 48 mins on the train from Amsterdam and is a compact and easilly navigable city. It is also situated on the coast and has a good tram network taking in sights such as the Dutch Parliament, Madurodam (Holland in Miniature) and has tram links to the beach resort of Scheveningen and the town of Delft famous for its pottery.

I had visited midweek but at the weekends there is a hop on, hop off tourist tram that takes you round the city.

More info on the city can be found on this website including an accomodation list

Mulhouse

Mulhouse is a small sized French city easilly accessible from Basel Airport. It is home to a tram network and many museums including the French National Car and Railway Museums. There is lots of useful information on the city and accesible things to do and places to stay on this website.

Strasbourg

Another must visit city in France's Alsace region (and with a tram network) is Strasbourg. Strasbourg is home to many must visit attractions including the Cathedral and the European parliament and is also a beautiful city for exploring on the boat cruises.

I have shared in our WhatsApp some resources and information about the city.

Prague

The Czech capital is home to a large tram network, with particular reccomendations for exploring being lines 17 and 22 which are scenic. Line 17 goes along the riverbank taking in the sights and line 22 goes up to the famous castle.

There is lots of accessible hotels and information on the city avalable in this website.

Milan

The city of Milan is also home to a tram network and many accessible things to see and do. While only in the city for a short time on a day trip from Lake Garda in 2019 I was mainly centred around the cathedral I did manage to get a few pics of the trams. I have also included some brochures and information in our Whatsapp to see more of the city.

There is also lots of useful access information on this website
