Did you know if you have a disability you may be eligible for up to 1/3 off the cost of train travel?

A Disabled Person's Railcard can be purchased for just £20 a year online or via the post. More information can be found on Where to Buy - Disabled Persons Railcard

There is a range of assistance on offer when travelling by train across the UK. You can find out more on the National Rail Enquires website: Passenger Assist | National Rail

Accross the UK there is over 15,000km of train tracks and over 2,000 stations you can travel to or from, featuring many scenic rail journeys and places to explore. A personal favorite of mine is the line between Glasgow/Edinburgh and Aberdeen, particuarly the section of line north of Dundee which features many nice small towns and coastal views.

Some particular highlights along this section of line include

Aberdeen: Scotland's third largest city is commonly known as "The Granite City" . There are many attractions on offer in the city including the Duthie Park, many museums and galleries' and a funfair on the beach.

Stonehaven: This is a small town approx. 20 mins by train outside of Aberdeen and has a small harbor area, many shops and restaurants. It is also possible to walk along the North Sea Coast to Dunnottor Castle from here.

There are many more highlights in Angus and Dundee along the route. Work is in progress to develop some accessibility information through my wider campaign networks and updates will be shared in due course. There is useful resources from Aberdeenshire
